With Pickle, you can transfer calls directly from the Yealink Handset.

When choosing to transfer a call, you can select between a warm or cold transfer. To transfer the call right away without speaking to your colleague or the external party first, select the Transfer now button.

Types of Call Transfer

You can transfer a call on the Yealink SIP-T54W/T57W in three ways:

  • Blind Transfer (Cold): Transfer a call directly to another party without consulting.

  • Semi-Attended Transfer: Transfer a call when the target phone is ringing.

  • Attended Transfer (Warm): Transfer a call with prior consulting.

All three ways can be performed using either the transfer key (physical or soft), a DSS key, or a BLF key.

Transferring Calls with the Transfer Key

An active call can be transferred to a number, a local contact, a number from a call history record, or a contact from a remote phone book.

To transfer a call:

  • Press the Transfer button or the Transfer soft key during a call.

  • Enter a phone number to transfer the call to or do one of the following:

  • If you have set a Speed Dial key, you can press it to transfer the call to the contact directly.

  • Press/tap the Directory soft key and select Local Directory.

    • Select the desired group and search for a local contact.

  • Press/tap History, select the desired list, and select a call history record.

  • Press/tap the Directory soft key and select Remote Phone Book.

    • Select the desired group and search for a remote contact.

  • For a blind transfer – Select B Transfer or press the Transfer button to complete the transfer.

  • For an attended/semi-attended transfer – press the OK button (just T54W) or the Send soft key (T54W/T57W) to dial out.

    • Press the Transfer button or the Transfer soft key when receiving a ringback to complete a semi-attended transfer.

    • After the party answers the call, press the Transfer button or the Transfer soft key to complete an attended transfer.

If you are using a handset, an attended/semi-attended transfer can be completed by hanging up the handset.

You can cancel the transfer before the call is connected by pressing the Cancel soft key.

Transferring Calls with a BLF or DSS Key

Transferring a call with a BLF key is a convenient way to transfer calls to users on your office phone system. The call will be transferred to the user monitored on the BLF key so you do not need to enter or select any phone number.

You can also set up a DSS key to transfer a call to a specified contact, giving you a one-press transfer feature.

You need to configure the transfer mode (blind, semi-attended, attended, or user-selected) in advance on the web user interface.

Transfer Mode Configuration

The default BLF or DSS transfer mode is blind transfer, but it can be changed from the web user interface.

To configure the transfer mode:

  • Access the web user interface as described here.

  • Navigate to Features>Transfer.

  • Select the desired transfer mode from the Transfer Mode via DSS key pull-down list – Blind Transfer or Attended Transfer.
Alternatively, select Select Transfer to have the option to choose how to transfer the call after pressing the BLF or DSS key.
If you select New Call the DSS or BLF key will dial the user instead of transferring a call to him.

BLF key Transfer

You can transfer a call to a BLF extension that is indicated by either a solid green (available) or a solid red light (already on a call).

To transfer a call with a BLF key:

  • Press the relevant BLF key to transfer the call. The call will be placed on hold and the BLF key will blink red.

  • If you configured the transfer mode for Blind Transfer the call will immediately get transferred.

  • If you configured the transfer mode for Attended Transfer wait for the monitored user to answer and see if he wishes to accept the call. Press the BLF key again or select Transfer to complete the transfer.

  • If you configured the transfer mode for Select Transfer you will get the option to select the transfer method or, instead, to place a new call to the user on the BLF key.

  • The BLF key will become solid red once the call is transferred.

DSS Key Transfer

You need to configure the DSS key and assign contact to it before you can perform a transfer.

To configure a Transfer DSS Key:

  • Do one of the following:

    • From the idle screen select Menu and navigate to Features > DSS key.

    • Select the desired line key.

    • Long press the desired line key to set it.

  • Select Key Event from the Type field.

  • Select Transfer from the Key Type field.

  • (Optional.) Enter the string that will appear on the screen during the transfer in the Label field.

  • Enter the contact number you want to transfer the call to in the Value field.

    • Or select Directory and choose the desired contact from the directory list.

  • Select Save.

Transferring a call with the DSS key:

  • During a call, press the DSS key you configured above to transfer the call to the specific contact.

  • If you configured the transfer mode for Blind Transfer the call will immediately get transferred.
If you configured the transfer mode for Attended Transfer wait for the monitored user to answer and see if he wishes to accept the call. Press the DSS key again to complete the transfer.

  • If you configured the transfer mode for Select Transfer you will get the option to select the transfer method or to place a new call to the user associated with the key.
