Pickle offers a range of different phone number types that vary in capability and in cost.

.Here is a brief overview of the types of numbers offered and their capabilities:
Local Numbers
Geographic numbers are local numbers that are assigned to a specific geographic region. These numbers are typically used by local businesses.
Local Rate Numbers
National numbers are phone numbers that are not region-specific and are designed to be reachable from an entire country at the same cost. This type of number is quite common outside the US and Canada and is used for larger businesses that want to easily be reached from around the country. Local Rate numbers are also available in ranges, most commonly as 1300-XXX-XXX, or 13-XX-XX
Toll-free Numbers
Toll-free numbers are numbers that are free of charge to call from the caller's side. Meaning, that the receiving party will pay charges on behalf of their customer to receive calls. Please note that toll-free numbers are only reachable from within the country they are located in and are only reachable from numbers with the same country prefix. Toll-free numbers are also available in ranges, most commonly as 1800-XXX-XXX, or 18-XX-XX
Mobile Numbers
Mobile numbers are assigned by the provider and are also most commonly 0488-XXX-XXX.
Classic vs. Flows Number
Speaking of number types, Pickle offers two different number classifications to choose from directly from the Dashboard. You can choose to set up the above number types as either a Classic or a Flows number.
So what is the difference? A classic number is a number that you can forward incoming calls in a tailored call distribution to answer calls.
A Flows a number is a number that allows a pre-recorded voice to communicate via dial tones (DTMF) on your customer's keypad. For example, when you call a phone number and hear options such as “Please press 1 to speak to Sales, 2 to speak to Support…” and so on. The redirection numbers (the numbers that correspond to the options that your customer selects) are considered classic numbers.
