📞 Troubleshooting Dropouts on Pickle Phone Systems

Last updated on Feb 06, 2026

Overview

Call dropouts are most often caused by network instability, local configuration issues, or bandwidth contention — not phone hardware faults.

Step 1: Confirm internet stability

Phone services rely on a stable internet connection. Check:

  • Are other internet services dropping?

  • Are dropouts happening at busy times?

  • Does restarting the modem temporarily help?

If yes, the issue may be network-related.

Step 2: Check cabling and power

Ensure:

  • Phones and ATAs are securely connected

  • No damaged Ethernet cables

  • Devices are not plugged into power boards with frequent resets

Step 3: Review bandwidth usage

Heavy uploads (cloud sync, backups) can affect voice quality.
Where possible:

  • Schedule backups outside business hours

  • Prioritise voice traffic on your network (QoS)

Step 4: Identify scope of issue

  • One phone only → likely handset or cabling

  • All phones → likely network or service related

Next steps

If call dropouts continue after these checks, Pickle Support can review logs and escalate internally where required.
