🌐 What is nbn® and how Pickle Business Broadband works

Last updated on Feb 06, 2026

Overview

The National Broadband Network (nbn®) is Australia’s wholesale broadband network, providing internet access to homes and businesses across the country. Pickle delivers Business Broadband services over the nbn®, combining nbn infrastructure with Pickle’s business-grade configuration, support, and optional voice and lift phone services.

How Pickle uses nbn®

Pickle does not own the nbn® network. Instead, we:

  • Provision business-grade nbn® services

  • Supply approved modem hardware

  • Configure services for business use (including VoIP and lift phones)

  • Provide ongoing support and monitoring

Your physical connection (the “last mile”) is delivered by nbn®, while Pickle manages the service experience on top.

What makes Pickle Business Broadband different

  • Business-focused support

  • Compatibility with phone systems and Emergency Lift Phones

  • Clear escalation paths for faults

  • Optional redundancy and monitoring solutions

Important things to know

  • nbn® availability and technology type depend on your address

  • Actual speeds can vary due to technology type and network conditions

  • Pickle cannot modify nbn® infrastructure directly
