Caller Line Identification (CLI) Explained

CLI displays the caller’s phone number on your handset or PBX.

However, caller ID is not always available. Reasons include:

  • Caller has blocked their ID

  • Mobile carriers protect privacy by default

  • Overseas callers

  • VoIP privacy settings

  • Some government agencies always present “Private Number”

This is normal and not a fault of your inbound number.
