Connecting Your Network to Pickle Internet

Last updated on Dec 08, 2025

Your Pickle internet connection supports a wide range of business devices. This guide explains the correct way to connect them safely.

Adding Switches

Use a Gigabit unmanaged or managed switch.

Avoid Daisy-chaining multiple switches unless necessary.

Connecting Wireless Access Points

  • Use Ethernet backhaul where possible

  • Place APs every 10–15 metres in commercial sites

  • Avoid consumer mesh routers that conflict with Pickle routing

Connecting POS & EFTPOS

Most POS systems require:
✔ Static routing
✔ Reliable Wi-Fi
✔ Manufacturer-approved VLANs (if applicable)

Pickle Support can help configure your network.

Connecting CCTV Systems

CCTV considerations:

  • Bandwidth usage (especially cloud systems)

  • Static IP for remote access

  • Port forwarding for NVRs

  • Cabling quality (PoE switches recommended)

Advanced Networks (Optional)

  • VLAN segmentation

  • Multi-WAN

  • Firewall exceptions

Pickle can assist with advanced configuration for managed IT clients.
