🚨 Emergency Lift Phones – Troubleshooting Connection Issues

Last updated on Feb 06, 2026

Overview

Emergency Lift Phones are safety-critical systems. If a lift phone is not connecting, action should be taken promptly.

Step 1: Confirm power

Check:

  • ATA or LTE device has power

  • Power has not been interrupted

  • Any backup battery status (if installed)

Step 2: Identify hardware type

Pickle supports:

  • Gen 2: Single FXS port, single internal antenna

  • Gen 3: Dual FXS ports, external SMA antenna (up to ~10m)

Knowing the model helps narrow troubleshooting.

Step 3: Check signal or registration

For LTE-based systems:

  • Confirm antenna is securely connected

  • Ensure antenna placement is not shielded

  • Check device registration status

Step 4: Perform a test call

If calls fail:

  • Check cabling from lift controller

  • Confirm correct port usage

  • Verify monitoring centre details

Escalation

If basic checks fail, contact Pickle Support immediately for remote diagnostics and escalation.
