Step 1: Preparing for Installation
Unbox your modem and check the contents.
Locate your modem’s default gateway (192.168.0.1) and the admin login credentials (username and password) on the label at the back of the device. These credentials also provide access to your WiFi details.
Ensure your modem is placed in a central location for optimal signal strength.
Step 2: Connecting Your Modem
For DSL Connection:
Plug the grey DSL cable into the DSL port on the back of the modem.
Connect the other end of the cable to your telephone wall socket.
For Fibre or HFC Cable Connection:
Connect an Ethernet cable from your fibre or cable entry modem (FTTP/HFC) to the red WAN port on the back of the modem.
Step 3: Powering On
Plug the power adapter into the modem and connect it to a power source.
Press the power button to turn on the modem.
Wait for the front panel lights to indicate the modem is online.
Step 4: Understanding the Buttons and Modem Lights
Front Panel Lights
Light Colour | What it Means |
No Light | Powered off |
Green | Fixed online |
Blue | Mobile online |
White | Powered on, booting up |
White (flashing) | Firmware upgrade in progress |
Orange | Trying to connect or waiting to switch from fixed to mobile |
Red | Both fixed and mobile failed to connect |
Colour Cycle | Factory reset in progress |
Back Panel Lights
Button/Light | Activity | What it Means |
Online (Broadband) | Solid Green | WAN/Mobile Broadband connected successfully. |
| Solid Orange | Authentication in progress. |
| Solid Red | Authentication unsuccessful. |
WAN Light | Solid Green | WAN connected successfully to DSL or NBN. |
Mobile Signal | Solid Green / Orange / Red | Signal strength indicators (Green = Strong, Red = Weak). |
Phone SIP Mode | Solid Green / Flashing / Solid Red | Indicates phone service status. |
USB, LAN, PSTN, Phone | Light indicators for respective ports | Shows connectivity or activity of connected devices. |
Step 5: Testing Your Internet
Open a web browser and type 192.168.0.1 into the address bar to access the modem settings.
Use the admin credentials (found on the modem label) to log in.
Navigate to the Status or Diagnostics section to confirm connectivity.
Step 6: Running a Speed Test
Visit Speed Test in your web browser.
Run the test to check your internet speed and ensure it meets your expectations.
Step 7: Switching Modem Back to Fixed Network
If your modem defaults to the mobile network backup, follow these steps to reconnect to your fixed network:
Check all cables: Ensure the DSL or Ethernet cables are securely connected to their respective ports.
Reboot your modem: Insert a pin into the reset hole to initiate a reboot.
Verify connection lights: Ensure the front light is green to confirm you are back on the fixed network.
Troubleshooting
No Internet: Check the DSL or WAN connection and restart the modem.
Slow Internet: Run a speed test and relocate the modem to a better position if needed.
Light Status Issues: Refer to the light indicators table to understand what might be wrong.
